Terms of acceptance

The IBDF scholarships are aimed at outstanding dancers who see their future in competitive ballroom dancing. The funding is meant to realize the dreams of ambitious and talented youngsters who consider dance to be the center of their lives.

Acceptance to IBDF program requires that candidates pass an audition, which is held once a year (the exact date is announced on the website).

Terms of acceptance:
  • Dancers affiliated indiscriminately with any studio, federation or organization, are eligible.
  • Ages 12-18.
  • Dance partners who pass the audition must commit to working with each other for the duration of the program.
  • The dance couples will compete in the Junior 1, Junior 2 and Youth categories.
  • Dancers will present dances from the Latin category (Samba, Cha-Cha, Rumba, PasoDoble, and Jive) and dances from the Standard category (Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Quickstep, Tango, and Foxtrot).
  • All applicants must fill out a registration form and meet IBDF requirements.
Those accepted to this prestigious program must display a strong commitment, be prepared to meet the highest standards of professionalism and fulfill all the conditions set by IBDF. These scholarships have significant professional and monetary value, and are limited to a small number of dance couples who are prepared to perform at the high level set for members of the team.
